THE REUNION

The spotlight that has fallen on the Electras in the past year has led to much interest in the band. And that interest has led to conversations between the various members – many of whom had understandably lost touch with each other over the passage of 40 years.

Inevitably – there have been calls for reunions that would bring together these schoolboy friends to make music again. Of course there are logistical issues that arise when trying to schedule a reunion for folks who now live in different cities and states across the USA and who all have professional obligations.

The founding members have decided to hold a reunion to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the band's formation in 1960. And the celebration will honor all thirteen people who played in any of the four lineups of The Electras in its three-year history between September 1960 and July 1963.

With the thirteen former members of the band scattered throughout the USA – it was necessary to choose one city where the reunion could take place.

Mindful that the recent interest in the Electras stems from the growing international prominence of Senator John Kerry – a decision has been taken to hold the 45th anniversary reunion in the city where he works – Washington D.C.

John Kerry has worked in the nation's capital for the past 20 years and he will be based in Washington for the next four years – either as President of the United States - or continuing as Senator for Massachusetts.

The 45th Anniversary reunion of the Electras is provisionally scheduled for the third week of January 2005. Further news about the reunion will be posted in the Latest News section of this website as soon as it is confirmed – so bookmark this website and check back frequently!
